Location
Kimberley is located between the Purcell and Rocky Mountains in the scenic Kootenay River Valley along highway 95A approximately 32 km north of Cranbrook.

Kimberley is up there in Canada’s ranking of communities who enjoy the most annual sunshine hours. With a yearly abundance of snowfall and limited rainfall combined with better than average sunshine hours this city is almost guaranteed mild winters and warm lovely summers.

Indoor Recreation
The Aquatic Centre’s many amenities feature salt water pools including a 25m Swimming Pool with a 1m competition diving board, leisure pool with lazy river, hot tub and steam room.
The Civic Centre Indoor Ice Arena is not only home to the Kimberley Dynamiters but a great public skating venue that is open from mid August to April.
Marysville (Kimberley’s close neighbor) also boasts an indoor Arena which is open for public skating from mid November to mid March – Arena rental and skating parties can be reserved by contacting the Leisure Services Department @ 250 427-5311 ex 213

Outdoor Recreation
- Skatepark/Bikepark - Located at the corner of Rotary Drive and Marsden Street.
- Kids Playground - Rotary Park (washrooms are open seasonally)
- Tennis Courts – located in close proximity to the Kids Playground
- Basketball Courts – In addition to the outdoor courts available at the local schools the community also has two public Basketball Courts located at Lois Creek and Swan Park.

Kimberley Alpine Resort is fast becoming the ski vacation hot spot offering spectacular downhill skiing and fabulous cross country groomed trails of varying lengths including a 3.3 km loop lit for night skiing enthusiasts. Snowshoeing and dog sledding tours are just a couple of the many winter offerings here.
At the Kimberley Alpine Resort it’s not all about winter, enjoy the views with a summertime ride aboard the Northstar Quad Chair.
Golf more your thing then you’ve come to the right place!
Kimberley is also home to 3 beautiful championship golf courses. The Bootleg Gap with its two courses an 18 and 9 hole the Trickle Creek Golf Resort’s 18 hole and the granddaddy of them all, the Kimberley Golf Club in Marysville. The club came to be in 1924 and has since played host to many tournaments. All the courses are noted for their scenic pristine locations and are only minutes apart.
- Kimberley Nature Park trails offer an abundance of activities for the outdoor enthusiast including hiking, cross-country skiing, and snow-shoeing. Guided walks and interpretive programs are also available.
In addition to the hundreds of kilometers of trails throughout the City enjoyed by hikers, bikers and walkers there are also many great opportunities for camping, fly-fishing, river rafting, and canoeing, kayaking and wildlife observation.

- Centre 64 – Features an art gallery with scheduled exhibits by Kootenay artists. The centre also houses a 128-seat theater hosting musicals, concerts and plays.
- Kimberley Heritage Museum – Local history is featured such as the Sullivan Mine exhibit
- Regalanes Bowling - This bowling alley offers five pin bowling and 'cosmic' bowling in the evenings.
Local Attractions
- Cominco Gardens – Has been duly described as a floral work of art. The Gardens feature over 45,000 blooms per year.
- The Kimberley Platzl - A Bavarian themed pedestrian mall in the downtown centre is complemented with a variety of unique shops all lending to a European village flare. One of the Platzl's most popular features is North America’s largest free standing Cuckoo Clock. Visitors are sometimes greeted by the City’s Mascot, Happy Hans, who is often seen wandering about.
- Marysville Falls – Bring your camera. You will be struck by the awesome beauty of this natural wonder.
Main Community Event
The Kimberley International Old Time Accordion Championships - second week in July.
This affair has be attracting world wide attention with performers coming from around the globe to participate. There are bursaries and cash prizes to be won, as well as jam sessions, concerts and dances going on throughout the festival.
Kimberley Julyfest - third weekend of July
Celebrations include a parade, fair, competitions and tournaments, live entertainment, beer gardens and wrap up party.
Marysville Daze – June
Celebrate with Kimberley’s neighbor to the south at this annual event which features a main street parade, show and shine, kids’ festival, flea market, softball and bocce ball tournaments and the ever-refreshing beer gardens.

Mark Creek Mall - This shopping area is conveniently located near Kimberley's famed Platzl, and is home to a variety of community-run eclectic shops.
