With four distinct seasons Grand Forks summers are dry and hot with temperatures averaging upwards of 30°C in July and August. Autumns here are a pallet of spectacular color. The winter season spans from mid-November through February. The coolest months are December and January. May and June are typically the rainy months welcoming an abundance of colorful spring blooms.

Indoor Recreation
Public library – Provides free computer use with inexpensive printing options. There are various programs for kids and teens and a wide variety of reading material as well audio and ebooks.
Arena – Home to team and recreational hockey, figure and public skating as well as several other scheduled events the arena can be enjoyed from late August until the end of March.
Aquatic Centre – Open year round with four 25 metre lanes, sauna, whirlpool and a shallow leisure area as well there are regularly scheduled aqua fit programs designed to suit all skill levels.
Aquatic Centre - for those who prefer a dryer workout experience there is a well equipped fitness room where circuit weight training classes are available or sign up for a variety of other classes including Yoga, Aerobics and Step.

Boundary Museum – Visitors are immersed in the unique local history of the Doukhobor heritage and the trek that led them to settle in the City of Grand Forks .
The city is famous for its Doukhobor cuisine so visitors can expect to find vereniki, pyrahi tarts, galooptsi and borscht soup on the menus.
The Grand Forks Heritage Centre - is home to various exhibitions this years focus is International Year of Natural Fiber “Threads of Our Heritage”

Big on Baseball – Labor Day weekend is Grand Forks time to host the annual International Baseball Tournament with a varying line-up each year of teams from all over Canada and the US .
