Golden, BC - Town
Golden and its immediate surroundings are more commonly known as Kicking Horse Country. Golden's rich history dates back to 1807 when David Thompson, and his crew took on the currents at the confluence of the Columbia and Kicking Horse Rivers.

1957, Golden has a total land area of 11.02 square km (2006 Census).

Located in Southeastern British Columbia at the junction of highways 1 and 95 Golden is nestled in the Columbia Valley between two spectacular mountain ranges, the Purcell Mountains and the Rocky Mountains .
Climate - About
Golden's climate seems to emulate the majority of Kootenay communities with moderate temperatures and typical seasonal expectations July and August are often the warmest months and December and January the coolest. The average annual rainfall is approximately 12 inches in addition to upwards of 72 inches of annual snowfall has been recorded.
